“Replying NOW” makes you feel busy but is usually providing very little value – and preventing you from finishing top-priority items.  In just about any scenario, it can wait.  If its a true emergency, they can pickup the phone or walk over to you.

Limit Number of Emails to Resolution.  Give “if/or” scenarios in questions and responses.  “If its an issue of X then lets do Y, or if it turns out to be Z then do this instead”. Reduce back and forth.
