“Get off the cocaine pellet dispenser and focus on the execution of your top to-do’s instead of responding to manufactured emergencies.”
– Tim Ferriss, Best Selling Author (The 4-hour Workweek)
“Replying NOW” makes you feel busy but is usually providing very little value – and preventing you from finishing top-priority items. In just about any scenario, it can wait. If its a true emergency, they can pickup the phone or walk over to you.
Limit Number of Emails to Resolution. Give “if/or” scenarios in questions and responses. “If its an issue of X then lets do Y, or if it turns out to be Z then do this instead”. Reduce back and forth.
